Während Jens. Achtert für die einen Kunden ganz klassische Print-Kataloge oder Werbekampagnen fotografiert und gestaltet, ist er für die anderen der „Crazy Filmmaker“, der zum Beispiel über fünf Jahre die Stuttgarter Filmnacht (kurz „Stugginale“) organisierte. Er liebt die Abwechslung, denn seine fotografische Tätigkeit umfasst im Bereich Film und Fotografie alles rund um das Thema Werbung, hochwertige, ausgefallene Business Portraits und interessante Reportagen. Gerade seine Vielseitigkeit, seine Mobilität und seine intensive Beschäftigung mit so vielen Themen macht ihn zu dem idealen Porträtfotograf. Privat engagiert er sich für eine kleine Gemeinde in Zinder, Niger. Dort hilft er durch regelmäßige Spenden die Versorgung mit Wasser zu sichern und die Bewohner zu unterstützen sich eine eigenständige Existenz aufzubauen.

Ausbildung
Jens Achtert hat mehrere Ausbildungen abgeschlossen: Die Gesellen- und Meisterprüfung im Handwerk als Fotografenmeister (ausgezeichnet mit einem Staatspreis durch die bayrische Regierung), eine Ausbildung als klassischer Druckvorlagenhersteller (bei der Deutschen Bundeswehr) oder 2024 zum Content Manager an der OMR Academy in Hamburg. Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch Grundstudium der Kunstgeschichte an der Universität Saarbrücken, die Ausbildung zum Heilpraktiker an der Paracelsus Schule oder die klassische Fotografenausbildung von der Johannes-Gutenbergschule in Bad Cannstatt.
Einige Jahre arbeitete er für das Fernsehen und produzierte eine von ihm konzipierte TV-Serie (Star for One Day in Zusammenarbeit mit SaarTV). Professionell fotografiert er seit 1986. Bereits 1988 wurde Jens. Achtert von Agfa in einem Wettbewerb zum besten Nachwuchsfotografen gekürt, 1989 organisierte er seine erste große Wanderausstellung zum Thema „Alte Handwerksberufe“.
Motto
„Von meiner Arbeit als Fotograf lebe ich seit 1989 durchweg bis heute. 1994 bin ich als einer der ersten in die digitale Fotografie eingestiegen. Davor und parallel habe ich bis 2004 noch im Groß- und Mittelformat auf Dia- und Negativfilm fotografiert – und meist alles im Labor selbst entwickelt“, so Jens. Achtert. Ständige Weiterbildung und immer neue Qualifikationen sind sein Motto. An der LAZI Akademie dozierte Achtert als staatlich anerkannte Lehrkraft für Fotografie und Film von 2022 bis 2024.

While Jens Achtert photographs and designs classic print catalogs or advertising campaigns for some clients, for others he is the „Crazy Filmmaker“ who, for example, organized the Stuttgart Film Night (or „Stugginale“ for short) for five years. He loves variety, as his photographic work in the field of film and photography encompasses everything to do with advertising, high-quality, unusual business portraits and interesting reportages. It is precisely his versatility, his mobility and his intensive engagement with so many topics that make him the ideal portrait photographer. Privately, he is committed to a small community in Zinder, Niger. There, he helps to secure the water supply through regular donations and supports the residents in building an independent livelihood.

Education
Jens Achtert has completed several apprenticeships: the journeyman’s and master craftsman’s examinations as a master photographer (awarded a state prize by the Bavarian government), an apprenticeship as a traditional print template producer (with the German Armed Forces), and, in 2024, as a content manager at the OMR Academy in Hamburg. His training is rounded out by undergraduate studies in art history at the University of Saarbrücken, training as a naturopathic practitioner at the Paracelsus School, and traditional photography training at the Johannes Gutenberg School in Bad Cannstatt.
He worked for television for several years and produced a TV series he conceived (Star for One Day in collaboration with SaarTV). He has been a professional photographer since 1986. In 1988, Jens Achtert was named Best Young Photographer by Agfa in a competition, and in 1989, he organized his first major traveling exhibition on the topic of „Old Crafts.“
Motto
„I have been working as a photographer since 1989, making a living from it. In 1994, I was one of the first to get into digital photography. Before that, and in parallel, until 2004, I photographed large and medium format slide and negative film – and mostly developed everything myself in the lab,“ says Jens Achtert. Continuous training and constantly acquiring new qualifications are his motto. Achtert taught at the LAZI Academy as a state-certified instructor of photography and film from 2022 to 2024.

Si Jens Achtert photographie et conçoit des catalogues imprimés classiques ou des campagnes publicitaires pour certains clients, il est pour d’autres le « Cinéaste fou » qui a notamment organisé la Nuit du Film de Stuttgart (aussi appelée « Stugginale ») pendant cinq ans. Il aime la diversité, car son travail photographique, tant dans le domaine du cinéma que de la photographie, englobe tout ce qui touche à la publicité, des portraits d’entreprise originaux et de haute qualité, ainsi que des reportages captivants. Sa polyvalence, sa mobilité et son engagement intense sur des sujets aussi variés font de lui le portraitiste idéal. À titre personnel, il s’engage auprès d’une petite communauté de Zinder, au Niger. Là-bas, il contribue à garantir l’approvisionnement en eau grâce à des dons réguliers et aide les habitants à gagner leur vie.
« Non seulement je parle trois langues, mais je vis aussi à l’international à ma manière. Il m’est donc très facile de me familiariser rapidement avec les choses, où que j’aille, et de tirer le meilleur parti de chaque production. »
Entraînement
Jens Achtert a suivi plusieurs formations : les examens de compagnon et de maître artisan de maître photographe (récompensé par un prix d’État du gouvernement bavarois), un apprentissage de fabricant de gabarits d’impression traditionnels (au sein de la Bundeswehr) et, en 2024, celui de gestionnaire de contenu à l’Académie OMR de Hambourg. Sa formation est complétée par des études de licence en histoire de l’art à l’Université de Sarrebruck, une formation de naturopathe à l’École Paracelse et une formation en photographie traditionnelle à l’École Johannes Gutenberg de Bad Cannstatt.
Il a travaillé pour la télévision pendant plusieurs années et a produit une série télévisée qu’il avait conçue (Star for One Day, en collaboration avec SaarTV). Il est photographe professionnel depuis 1986. En 1988, Jens Achtert a été nommé Meilleur Jeune Photographe par Agfa lors d’un concours et, en 1989, il a organisé sa première grande exposition itinérante sur le thème des « Arts anciens ».
Devise
« Je suis photographe depuis 1989 et j’en vis. En 1994, j’ai été l’un des premiers à adopter la photographie numérique. Avant cela, et parallèlement jusqu’en 2004, je photographiais des diapositives grand et moyen format et des négatifs, et je développais la plupart de mes photos moi-même en laboratoire », explique Jens Achtert. La formation continue et l’acquisition constante de nouvelles qualifications sont sa devise. Achtert a enseigné à l’Académie LAZI en tant que professeur diplômé d’État de photographie et de cinéma de 2022 à 2024.
